Integration.
The Garmin Integration update to the app is very exciting to roll out. Now, app subscribers are able to sync the ULTRA App with Garmin Connect. This allows the ULTRA App to pull data such as distance and elevation gain directly from Garmin Connect. There are no additional buttons or steps that need to be taken. Simply press the button “Connect to Garmin” either in the Settings window or when prompted upon opening the app and login to your Garmin Connect account. Once that is done, each time you run with your Garmin watch and it uploads data to Garmin Connect it will also pull data to the ULTRA App. The major benefits are that now you don’t have to carry your phone with you to track your runs.
The other update that comes along with the Garmin Integration is an added tracking feature on the Weekly Dashboard page. This feature includes a chart which allows you to toggle between distance and elevation gain. The chart indicates the distance (or elevation gain) that was planned for each day of the current week and then records the actual run data. The planned data is shown as a white bar and the actual data will be either a green bar (met the goal for that day) or a red bar (didn’t meet the goal for that day). This tracking chart will be visible for every week during the training plan. It will allow you to go back at the end of the year to see how consistent you were with your training and how many sessions you did not meet the planned requirements. In the past, many runners had to fill out a spreadsheet or training log with their training plan info and keep it up to date with every session. Now the ULTRA App with do it all for you.
Please note that your Garmin HR monitor currently will not sync with the app. The Garmin Integration is ONLY for pulling data from Garmin Connect and not connecting directly to any Garmin wearable.
